Just What does your church teach? Do you know?
Sometimes when someone either says something or shows you something and it just doesn’t sound right, Red Flags should go up. When it comes to religions professing to be Christian, they usually use the Bible to support their teachings. Therefore, for the purpose of this project, I will mention:
1. A few main subjects
2. A brief statement about the main subject, and
3. Show where in the Bible the subject teaching or instruction is referenced.
4. If the world or your church accepts something but the Bible condemns it, what will you do?
Then it is up to you, the reader of this project, to draw his or her own conclusion as to the accuracy of each subject, principle(s) or conviction. However, it should be also stated that whatever conclusion to which you come will place you either in agreement for or against the Bible. When you are completed with this research, you will know whether or not you are believing the Bible in its entirety or whether you must discount certain parts of the Bible in order for your conviction to continue to influence you. Remember: There cannot be 2 sets of truths (meaning one truth differing from the other "in content" or "in substance") It is either one or the other, it cannot be both. We should always hear the entirety of the matter before we make our determination as to which is true and which is false. We should make sure of the more important things, (Philippeans 1:10).
Questions: (and these are just a few examples)
1) Is your belief based on facts or hopes?
2) Do you know what is at stake here? when you go to your church, if you do go to church,
3) Do they just teach you about being a good person and the benefits of knowing an unnamed god?
4) Or do they teach you that God has a name and what that name is? Or
5) Do they teach you about the difference between a god and God?
As an example of this research Q#4 - consider this on the subject of god(s): How many gods are there? Before you compare the scriptures, try and remember what your church has taught you about the subject; now compare what the Bible has to say on the subject – compare the following scriptures: (Exodus 20:3, Deuteronomy 7:16, 28:64, and 29:18 & 26, Judges 2:17, Daniel 3:18, 1 Corinthians 8:5, 2 Corinthians 4:4 just to compare a few.
Do you now have the same answer that you had before you compared these scriptures?
How many gods do you think there are now?
What do you suppose your churches position is on this matter?
What do they teach you about these few following issues?
In comparison, I'd like you to consider: A counterfeit currency is not real currency no matter how much it looks like the real thing. Because of the skill of some counterfeiters, sometimes it takes a closer than normal inspection to determine the real from the fake. So for the next few moments, please consider the next 13 topics. Have you ever said, "they can't all be wrong can they?" Well have you considered what Ephesians 4:17-19 says? vs. 17 So this is what I say and bear witness to in the Lord, that you should no longer go on walking just as the nations also walk, in the futility of their minds. 18 They are in darkness mentally and alienated from the life that belongs to God, because of the ignorance that is in them, because of the insensitivity of their hearts. 19 Having gone past all moral sense, they gave themselves over to brazen conduct to practice every sort of uncleanness with greeediness. Also, to the people back in Jesus' day, it was said of them at Matthew 15:6-9: 6 " .... You have made the word of God invalid because of your tradition. 8 This people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far removed from me. 9 It is in vain that they keep worshipping me, for they teach commands of men as doctrines.'" Does your church support this world's traditions? Maybe holidays? A tradition is a belief or behavior passed down within a group or society with symbolic meaning or special significance with origins in the past whether scriptural or non-scriptural. Or maybe your church supports cultural traditions? Whatever the case, you need to decide if anything your church supports finds its roots in the teachings of the Bible.
Remember now, this system is deceptive - False religion is the chief deceptor. It is a primary tool used by its founder and originator. False religion is designed to blind the minds of the non-believers (see 2Corinthians 4:4) Although he blinds the minds of the non-believers, he cannot blind the minds of the believers. So, let's look into the following topics and see what conclusion can be drawn from this consideration! As always, I welcome your comments!
