7. Just what is Easter

Does your church celebrate Easter?

6. When your religion practices the celebrating of Easter.
Q. Is it wrong to celebrate Easter? Does your church celebrate it?
A. What does a rabbit and eggs in a basket have to do with the resurrection of Christ Jesus?
B. What do rabbits have to do with eggs? Rabbits don’t lay eggs!
C. Is this just another harmless lie to teach our children?
1. The only correlation that rabbits and eggs have in common is that the rabbit was the symbol of reproduction and eggs for their fertility. But there is definitely no connection with the resurrection of Jesus here. This holiday too is filtered with other pagan practices. It certainly would not bring any honor to the true God to become involved with it.
D. Do you feel that it is no big deal and then say, “I’m not celebrating it like the rest of the world! It just seems to be a good time of the year to get specials at stores and have a party with close friends!” I wonder how it is looked at from God’s viewpoint, actually as he sees it, knowing this holidays’ roots and what it truly represents in His eyes?
E. So . . . what’s your churches position on celebrating Easter?
